Our local town is Montendre, a settlement has been here since before Roman times. It has a small ruined chateaux on the hill in the centre of town. A walk up to the Chateaux tower & ramparts is rewarded with beautiful views over the town & surrounding countryside. Montendre is serviced by all the usual small shops so loved here in France.
On top of that there are two medium sized supermarkets to ensure you have all you need. If you prefer fresh local produce, the town holds a lovely market every Thursday & Sunday mornings.
